We are almost there. December 9th Vagabond Lodge and Kicking Horse Resort opens for the season. It was a bit of a surprise they didn't open this weekend as we seem to have enough snow. The alpine is great already with over 300 cms. I have talked to a few people who have either been boot packing or touring and they have given some great reviews of the snow quantity in the higher elevations. The bottom part is still lacking a lot but from the looks of it, it is skiable and the resort has had their snowmaking going daily. We have had some nice light snow coming down off and on for the past week and the weather forecast is calling for quite a bit in the next couple days before some colder weather sets in for a few days. Nothing serious but we don't usually get too much snow when it is colder. We have some great booking for this coming winter with a mixture of overseas visitors and Canadians and Americans. A lot of them are return guests who have been coming year after year. Many use Kicking Horse as a warm-up before heading heli skiing with either Great Canadian Heli skiing, or CMH. You can't find a better hill to get your legs than Kicking Horse Resort. Reminder if you are looking for a heli skiing experience we can hook you up for a day trip with Purcell Heli Skiing here in Golden.
