January is my favourite month for skiing and this year it has been fabulous. The weather has been staying crisp with most day-time temperatures about -8C and with some temperature inversions it has been considerably warmer at the top than the bottom. We haven't had any big dump of snow lately but with the new snow we had about a week ago, the coverage is still great. The bumps are getting a bit big on some of the runs that they don't groom but that is the only negative comment. And no crowds. This past weekend it was a couple minute wait and that was about all. The resort has done a nice job with grooming too. I like to do some hiking to T2 or T1 and with the cooler temperatures we are still finding stash's of powder here and there. You just need to work a little harder to find them. Photos is from yesterday of Patrick from Selkirk Sports on our way up to T2 and it was glorious.
