Spring has sprung. It went from one extreme of cold weather to unseasonably warm weather for the past couple weeks here at Kicking Horse. Along with friend Patrick from Selkirk Sports we made a trip off the resort which meant some hiking and skinning to the North of Kicking Horse. Overall it was about a 3 hour junket which was absolutely fabulous. We found some great soft powder on the north facing back-side of Ozone and then spring skiing down the south facing Rudi's run. We can hook you up with a guide to do this type of off-resort skiing and never recommend doing it without someone knowledgable about the snow pack and avalanche hazards. Give us a call at Vagabond 250 344 2622 or email us at info@vagabondlodge.ca for more information and to book your trip for next winter. Vagabond closes for a couple months starting April 2nd and reopens the end of May for the summer season. Reminder if you are booking direct by either phoning or emailing us, you receive a 10% discount from our posted rate. It is guaranteed the lowest rate. We do have some extended stay specials.

I always enjoy showing guests some of my favourite runs at Kicking Horse. And when we get some new snow it is even better. We had a nice dump of snow yesterday with 16 cms of powder. Friend Patrick from Selkirk Sports joined m along with a travel writer from England Abi Butcher who is spending some time in our area. It was her final day here before heading home and we saved the best for last. It was a bit of a challenge getting to the top of T2 but definitely worth the effort. Vagabond will be closing at the end of the month and then reopening again for the summer season the end of May. If you want a great get-a-way summer or winter give us a call at 250 344 2622 or email info@vagabondlodge.ca We have been going a dry spell for snow in the past couple weeks. We are getting a lot of sunshine which is great and despite the lack of new snow the coverage is great and we can still find some nice snow. The season is certainly starting to wind down. But historically March has always been a great month for snow and we are hoping that will be the case again. Video is a run the other day from the top of T2. |
