This is just a reminder that the Early Bird deadline for saving 10% on your stay this ski season at Vagabond Lodge is October 31st. So the count-down is on. We have some fun skiing here with both friends and guests. A favorite spot for me is to climb to the top of T2. It involves about a half an hour climb but totally worth it. Sometimes I do it myself, sometimes with a few guests or friends.
Here is a collection of photos from some of my trips to the top of T2

We are pretty excited about hosting a Yoga Retreat next June. I know, it is still a long ways away, but this is going to be a great event.
Guests of ours from this past summer Daniel and Roxanne Sundahl are hosting it and are involved in teaching Yoga and Photography. They decided after staying with us for a couple days this would be the perfect spot. It is a 4 and half day retreat with all sorts of great stuff going on, from Yoga classes, massages, wine pairing dinner, hikes and basically anything else you may want to do. Click Here for more information. If you are looking for a perfect Christmas present this could be it?? Daniel took some photos of Roxanne when they were here and they are pretty amazing. Take a look at a few he took while he was here. Just a reminder October 31st is the end of our 10% Early Bird Savings for the upcoming ski season. Kicking Horse opens daily on December 13th with a closing date on April 20th. There may be a couple of preview weekends before December 13th but nothing is confirmed. I would suspect if we have a lot of snow they will have the resort open earlier on the weekends as they have done in the past. This is such a great video, it is worth sharing. It is part of Rick Mercer Report on CBC TV. He really is an amazing talent and in this video experiences climbing in the Purcell Mountain with CMH which is a big heli skiing company in the winter and they offer summer hiking. Watch this and enjoy. Rick is so funny, even when he is probably scared half to death but still cracking jokes. In our backyard. The scenery is stunning. It was a perfect autumn day yesterday here at Vagabond Lodge. Along with neighbours Bob and Annie we went for a hike to Valenciennce Canyon. First top was Bush Harbour on Kinbasket Lake. We travelled west on the transcanada highway for about 15 minutes and then took the Big Bend Highway(rough but good shape gravel road)to Bush Harbour. Then the road gets pretty marginal. We travelled another 30 km north on a forestry road along the edge of the lake. Stunning. We stopped along the lake for lunch. There are all sorts of great spots for exploring. Where Valencianne creek enters Bush River there is a nice little camp site. We took a well marked but steep(straight down in a few spots) to get a good look at Valencianne Canyon. There were thousands of spawning salmon. Amazing. Overall about a 6 hour trip with lots of stops. We saw 2 other vehicles the entire day. Amazing part of the world
