If you believe rumours, look for an early opening for the winter season here at Kicking Horse. We have been getting a pretty steady snowfall over the past few weeks especially at the top where they have over 200 cms and the snow has started to accumulate at the base too. The resort is scheduled to open on December 8th for the season but we are hearing strong rumours that is could open a couple of weekends only prior. And the date we are hearing is November 25th weekend which would be the earliest ever for the resort.
This video is getting a lot of play. It is one of the outstanding ski videos and worth sharing. It was done in Nelson BC. I have a hard time watching the ski videos for the most part as they are all the same. But this one is very different and very good. Enjoy. Reminder if you are looking for a winter getaway, give us a call at 250 344 2622 or email us here at [email protected] It looks like it is going to be a good one.
Wow, wow, wow! What a special treat this was. Spur of the moment on a perfect fall day, we decided to see if we could ride our bikes to Takakkaw Falls in Yoho National Park. I knew the road had been closed for a couple weeks to motor vehicles but not sure what the state of the road would be. Well it was perfect. Even the Parks Canada people had plowed the road for us. Usually on any given day in the summer this road would see thousands of cars a day. You would not want to ride a bike. But we were the only ones there. Fantastic way to end our bike riding season. We now have a nice dump of snow on the ground around Vagabond Lodge and over 100 cms at the top. We are ready for winter. Bring it on.
