Great Hike at Kicking Horse
Hiking Season is Here
We have been doing our first hikes of the season in the last few days. The simplest from Vagabond Lodge is to take the gondola to the top and then follow the ridges in either direction. One of my favourites winter and summer is T2. They have a great trail to the top of T2 that basically anyone can do and the views are stunning. The gondola does most of the work to get We went with some neighbours today and it was a perfect day with temperatures in the mid 20's and a nice breeze at the top. There were still a few snow patches but nothing serious. There is still a lot of snow at the top though on the east facing slopes.
Vagabond Lodge is back open for the summer season and will stay open until the end of September. It looks like it will certainly be a busy July and August. If you haven't been here in the summer there are so many things to do from hiking the ridges as we did today, to mountain biking, rafting on the Kicking Horse River, golf and more. We don't call it an adventure playground for nothing. Here are some photos from today's hike.
