Another Ski Season Kicking Off at Kicking Horse today. We had 32 cm of fresh snow over the past couple days. And then the sun came out. You can't ask for more. You still have to be careful until it gets skier packed. I was maybe overly cautious but it doesn't take much to catch a ski on a rock just barely under the snow. It is a long season. Pretty quiet for opening day, but I suspect tomorrow will be a lot busier.
Happy Anniversary Kicking Horse. 10th Anniversary this year. And today was opening day. I went up for a couple runs about 12:30 with friends Warren and Carol who have a home on the hill. Top part was nice off Stairway to Heaven. Lots of nice fluffy snow but it was safer to stay on the groomed stuff since the base hasn't settled. After Catamount chair down, it was slim pickings with lots of rocks. I may wait until next weekend and there is supposed to be some more snow this week. But it was fun to get a few turns in.
The Parson Jazz Cooperative has made the news!! We are playing Sunday at the Island Restaurant for their 1 year anniversary. A local New Website did a story on us yesterday.
Good job. Click here for the Link.
Still snowing. Not a big dump, but everything counts. Resort is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then reopens for the Winter on December 10th.
